Burr married Sarah Westcott on March 5, 1840 in Morgan County, OH.

Burr H. Combs son of Robert A. and Nancy Combs was born in Loudon county, Va, Jan 12, 1815 died Mar 24, 1914 aged 99 years 2 mo and 12 days old. He was one of a family of twelve children. Eight brothers, two sisters, one half sistr and one half brother all of whom preceded him in death except the half sister, Nancy Jane Shuster of Reinersville.

The subject of this sketch and Nimrod A. Combs were twins, Nimrod A. preceeded him 11 years being 88 years of age.

Robert A. Combs with his family emigrated to Ohio in the year 1826 and settled on a quarter section of land bought from the government in Manchester Twp, Morgan Co.

Burr Combs has been a farmer all his life and has resided on this home farm with the exception of a few years, which time he lived on the farm now owned by U. Gogan [?] near Grove church Bristol Twp.

On March 5, 1840 he was united in marriage to Sarah Wescott to this union were born eight children as follows. Nancy E. Beckett of Hiramsburg, Noble County, Mary A. Wilson deceased, Maria J. Dye of Moulton, Iowa, Sylvester W. of Olive Green Ohio Noble Co, Robert A. of Adair, Iowa, Henry C. of Reinersville, Ohio, Sarah W. deceased and John C. who resides at the home farm which is in the Combs family owned by John C. Combs.

Burr H. Combs was initiated into the mysteries of Masonry Nov 24, 1852 in Sharon Lodge Noble co was transferred by card into Reinersville lodge May 1st, 1875 and has been a faithful member in good standing from that time until called from earth being a member 60 years attending lodge until the last two or three years driving three miles to his home alone.

Burr H. Combs and wife united with the M.P. church at Woodgrove about 1860 being faithful to his church and attended as long as his health permitted.
