Mrs. Jo Alice Samford, 62, of Benton, Ill., died Tuesday, December 11, 1990, at Franklin Hospital in Benton.
Daughter of Mrs. Pearl Lester and the late Joe Lester, she was born November 18, 1928.
A member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Benton, she also was a member of the WMU of the church.
Mrs. Samford leaves one son, Glen David Samford of Hopkinsville, Ky.; a daughter, Reatta Barnfield, of Benton; her mother, Mrs. Pearl Lester of Holland, Mo., one brother, Sam Lester of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
She was reared with Grace McCrary Shelton of Memphis and Walden McCrary of Jennings, Mo.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 13, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. at John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Mo. with Bro. John Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele, Mo., with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Mike Lester, Bill Lester, Sammy Lester, Jim Lester, and Kim Kelsey, all nephews of Mrs. Samford, and Glenwood Taylor.
