Luther Whitten, age 48, died at a hospital at Bessemer, Alabama Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock after a months stay there.

Complete funeral arrangements are not available, but the remains are expected to arrive at Rayville Wednesday by rail. Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville will be in charge.

His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lela Whitten, Rayville, one son, Johnnie Whitten, two daughters, Betty Faye Whitten and Mrs. Bobby Hendrix, both of Rayville, six brothers, Bruce, Start, La., Isarel, Start, Fred, Tullos, Alonzo, Borger, Tex., Mayo, Monroe, and John Whitten of Little Rock, Ark., and one sister, Mrs. L. H. Taylor, Start.
