Death of Mrs. John Nay.
After a long illness attended by great suffering at times, Mrs. Nay, wife of John S. Nay, died at her home on South Home Avenue, Thursday night of last week at 8:00.
For nearly four years Mrs. Nay had been unable to sit up an entire day and since the first of last April she had been constantly bedfast. Mr. Nay was compelled to leave the Auditor's office where he was deputy to be at his wife's bedside, and through these months had done all that was possible to render her comfortable.
The deceased was a daughter of Samuel D. and Susan Pierce Lash and was born May 5, 1863 in this county. She was married March 26, 1885 to John S. Nay. An adopted daughter, Miss Gertrude Nay survives.
Mrs. Nay was a member of Young's Creek Christian church in which neighborhood she had always lived prior to moving to Franklin a few years ago.
The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the home, conducted by Rev. M. B. Ainsworth. Burial at Greenlawn.
