GALVESTON - Mrs. Lorene Joyce Strain passed from this life Friday, October 22, 2004, in Galveston.
Born May 14, 1915, Mrs. Strain had been a resident of Galveston and Santa Fe since 1950, previously of Grapevine. She was a dedicated housewife and mother and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 56 years, David A. Strain and son, Dennis L. Strain
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas A. and Patricia Strain, Darrell W. and Barbara Strain, all of Austin, Dwight R. and Georgia Strain of Galveston; daughter and son-in-law, Dianna S. and David Baker of Galveston; brother, Paul Leslie of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor John Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Allen Jackson, II, Toby Jackson, Chris Strain, Doug Strain, Jr., John David Strain and Mark Strain.
