Theresa M. Perry Banks, 93, of Comstock Park, MI, formerly of Monterey, IN, passed away on August 11, 2013 at the age of 93.
Theresa was born on April 30, 1920 in Kewanna, Indiana to Leu Jay and Bertha Perry. She was baptized at St. Ann Parish in Kewanna, IN and spend her childhood at farms with her 4 older sisters and 2 brothers (1 older and 1 younger).
She was then married to Lloyd Banks on April 20, 1940 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Monterey, IN. Together they had 3 sons: Donald, Kenneth, and Dennis.
The family spent the early years in the Pontiac, Michigan area. After their children had grown up, Theresa and Lloyd moved to Toledo, Ohio and retired a few years later. They bought a summer house on the Tippecanoe River in Monterey, IN in 1982 and then spent 23 years there and traveling to all the states and México before moving to Comstock Park, Michigan near the Grand Rapids area to be closer to their 2 sons and wives (Don & Carol and Ken & Susan). Dennis was living in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México.
Both Theresa and Lloyd attend the "Holy Trinity" Catholic Church near their home.
Theresa is survived by her husband Lloyd, her 3 sons: Donald & Carol Banks of Grand Rapids, MI, Kenneth & Susan Banks of Grand Haven, MI, and Dennis Banks of Cuernavaca, Morelos, México; her 4 grandchildren: Jeffrey Owen Banks, Bryon Hugh Banks, Bridget Ann Wright, and Lori Ellen Brantley; and 5 great grandchildren: Anne Marie Wright, Jacob Emery Wright, Grace Elizabeth Wright, Steven Perry Brantley, and Rachel Faye Brantley. She survived 6 siblings: Viola Smith of Culver, IN, Mable Cecrie of Mesa, AR, Helen Crist of Kewanna, IN, Anna Parcel of Winamac, IN, Lawrence Perry of Kewanna, IN and Dr Charles Perry of CO.
