In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Elaine (Chuck) Helm of Kennesaw, GA and Fran (Sonny) Barnes of Barnwell, SC; sisters, Evelyn Finnegan of Aiken, SC and Lorena Wood of Trenton, SC; brother, J.P. (Ruby) Herrin of Newberry, SC; grandchildren, Bryce (Jennifer) Barnes of Spartanburg, SC, Blake Barnes of Barnwell, SC and Andrea Helm of Kennesaw, GA.
She was born in Aiken, SC. She resided in Illinois for 32 years and returned to Aiken in 1988, where she has lived ever since. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse, SC. She taught Sunday school and also bible school for many years in Illinois. She was a member of Campers on Missions in SC and with Motor Racing Outreach Ministries at Nascar Races. She was a volunteer with the Baptist Conference Center in Ridgecrest, NC. She enjoyed traveling and camping. She was an avid Gamecock Fan. Her hobbies included playing cards, board games, crocheting and most importantly, spoiling her grandchildren.
She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 76 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however, she has completed her journey and is now at peace with her maker.
The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park.
