Gerald Gerry Charm, an artist and advertising art director, whose wit and urbane tone infused both his professional and personal life, died on August 14, 2013 in Boca Raton, Florida. He was 95. Mr. Charm formerly resided in Great Neck, New York, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Charm was affiliated with a number of New York ad agencies, and was responsible for notable ad campaigns during his career. He was born in New York, and attended Erasmus Hall High School, graduating at age 16. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Technical Sergeant, preparing topographical maps prior to the invasion of France. He was passionate about art and music, and a crossword puzzle expert. He was a member and past president of the Jacksonville Camera Club and the Society of Mixed Media Artists (SOMMA). His photographs were notable and his mastery of collage was classic and erudite (www.gerrycharm.com). He was a consummate gentleman, and admired for his wide knowledge, humor and grace by those privileged to have known him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marian of Mandarin, sons Orrin Charm (Shahla) of Los Angeles, CA and Jonathan (Nancy) of Boca Raton, FL, and a daughter, Jennifer Charm-Jacobson (Steven) of Los Angeles, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
