Mrs. Cynthia "Took" Burroughs, age 56, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, August 7th, at the East Georgia Regional Medical center after an extended illness. She was a Bulloch County native and a member of the Mount Pisgah Independent Church of Portal, Ga. She retired after 25 years of service with the Bulloch County Board of Education as a bus driver.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Wilbert Burroughs of Portal, Ga.; her loving daughters, Kaisha Burroughs, Keydra Burroughs, Kendra Herrington (Terrance), all of Statesboro, Ga., and Shari Burroughs of Fayetteville, N.C.; her loving father, Mr. Leroy Pierce of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her loving sisters, Marcia Faye Hudson (Dewayne) of Statesboro, Ga., Dorothy Cone of Metter, Ga., Kerr Cone (Julius) of Sylvania, Ga., Lula Mae Faulk (Kenny Ray) and Shawanda Spencer (Willie), both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her loving brothers, Freddie Williams (Patricia), Gordon Alfred Cone (Taquilla), Jeffery Cone, Ricky Pierce (Torra), Eddie Pierce (Mary), all of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Robbie Cone (Valencia), William Cone (Laurinda), Donald Cone(Vivian), Tony Reese all of Statesboro, Ga., Roy Lee Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., Grady Cone of Orlando, Fl., and Jimmy Ellis of Savannah, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Cynthia Burroughs will be Saturday, August 17th, at 1 p.m. at Hodges Grove Baptist Church, Miller Street Extension, Statesboro, Ga., with Bishop Anthony Chavers officiating and the Rev. Dr. John Harmon, pastor. Interment will be held in Eastside Cemetery, East Olliff Street, Statesboro, Ga. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
