Tom H. Briggs, 77, of 304 E. Elmwood Ave., Lot 30, Falconer, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 13, 2013), in his home, after a brief battle with leukemia, under the care of Hospice, and with his family around him.

Tom was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Warren, Pa., the son of Howard and Myrtle Mosher Briggs. Tom attended Jamestown Public Schools. Tom worked at Crescent Tool Company until the company moved and retired from WCA Hospital.

He is survived by two sons: Daniel (Audrey) Briggs of Jamestown, and Daryl A. (Pamela Jo) Briggs of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Debra Briggs of Falconer, with whom he made his home; 10 grandchildren: Cynthia Frederick of Busti, N.Y., John (Sarah) Ramey of Greenhurst, N.Y., Joshua N. Briggs of Jamestown, Daniel A. Briggs of Jamestown, Roxanne L. Briggs (Eric Mortimer) of Jamestown, Shelley M. Duell of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Allen (Danielle) Briggs of Raleigh, N.C., Cady DiBlasi of Falconer, N.Y., Joseph Berenger of Clearwater, Fla., Megan Prince of Clearwater, Fla.; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara L. Parker Briggs, whom he married May 25, 1957, and who died June 6, 2011; a son, Chris L. Briggs; two brothers: Richard and Don Briggs; and a sister, Nellie Briggs Andersen.

The family would like to thank neighbors James and Karen Carrow for their help from the trailer village.

No visitation will be observed. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family and donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Falconer Fire Department.
