RAILROAD MAN DIED THURSDAY
A. A. Far, 75, died Thursday night at his home, 600 West Washington Avenue, after an illness of two days. Death resulted from a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Farr had been a resident of Red Oak for 25 years and during that time had been employed in the rail department for the Burlington.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Boileau and Thomas Chapel with Rev. F. W. Simpson, Methodist minister, in charge. Relatives served as pallbearers. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery.
Alfred Allen Farr, was born in the state of Ohio on September 14, 1855. He ws the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Farr. He was married on July 16, 1888 in Winterset, Iowa, to Laura Cornelison, who with three children survive, they being Dale and Virgil Farr, living at home and one daughter, Mrs. Linda Smithy of Des Moines. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Ella Barnard of Centerville, Iowa. Three children preceded him in death.
Mr. Farr was a member of the Methodist Church. He came to Red Oak in 1900 from Lorimore and has since made this his home.
