Carl Schuetz passes away
Carl Schuetz, 82, a resident at Mendota Lutheran Home the past three years, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in Mendota Community Hospital where he had been a patient since Sept. 5.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Albert Heidmann, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Setchell, Elman Pohl, Robert Reck, Harold Schuetz, Karl Betz and Gilbert Betz.
Visitation was after 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Schwarz Funeral Home.
Mr. Schuetz was born Nov. 1, 1884, in Mendota, the son of George C. and Catherine Salz Schuetz. He married Caroline Pohl in October of 1910 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 1931. The deceased was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was a retired Conco employe.
Surviving are one son, George; two granddaughters, Barbara and Mary Lou Schuetz; two brothers, Paul of Mendota and George of Zionsville, Ind.; and two sisters, Miss Rosa Schuetz, Zionsville, Ind., and Mrs. B. Harry (Alma) Reck of Mendota. Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife were three brothers, Ziska, Fred and Aaron.
