He was born May 22, 1915, in Annis, Idaho, a son of George A. and Emma C. Matson Browning. He married Hattie Leona Bills August 14, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a salesman and manager for the Browning Freight Lines office in Idaho Falls, Idaho from many years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave his life in service to his church, family and friends. As a young man he went on a mission to New Zealand. Later he was a stake missionary in the Idaho Falls Stake and then fulfilled a mission with his wife, Hattie in the Illinois Peoria Mission. He held many positions in the Church and gave 25 years of temple service, serving in the Idaho Falls, Provo, and Mt. Timpanogos temples. He enjoyed doing family history, reading, gardening, traveling, golfing, and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie of Orem; one son and four daughters: Milon Jan Browning, Woods Cross, UT; Karen (Vern) Davis, Orem, UT, DeAnne (Mark) Madsen, Saratoga Springs, UT; Kathleen (Stephen) Walston, Zionsville, Indiana; and Pamela (Thomas) Mallory, Orem, UT; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters and one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Madsen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 5, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Geneva Heights Stake Center, 546 North 500 West, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah on Sunday, April 4, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
