Catherine Miniotis, 87, of Vandergrift, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, in Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot. Born Feb. 12, 1926, in Vandergrift, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Sophia (Linakis) Boulis, a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in New Kensington, a graduate of Vandergrift High School and Duffs Business and College. She had been employed by the Kiski Area School District as a secretary for 23 years. Catherine was a Girl Scout leader and had also volunteered her time with the ladies' Philoptoko Society in Vandergrift and New Kensington. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, knitting and doing needlework. Survivors include her husband, John Miniotis, of Vandergrift; a son, Dr. Nicholas Miniotis, of Louisiana; and a daughter, Lynn Hulme, of New Jersey. Other siblings include Dr. Gust Boulis, Dr. Matthew Boulis and Eva Boulis. Family and friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. Monday in the DUNMIRE-KERR-ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. A Trisagion service will be held 3:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, with the Very Rev. Father Stephen Mazaris officiating. Interment will be in the Vandergrift Cemetery.
