On December 20, 1911 Theodore married Martha Laurensa Pederdatter Moluf in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. They had four children: Leila Marie, Ann, Julius Theodore and Theodore Peter.
After Theodore's death, Martha remarried, last name Birkland. On June 3, 1927 she was killed in a car accident at the corner of Twombly and Mulford Roads in Creston, Illinois.
