Obituary (Montpelier Examiner) Word was received here Tuesday of the death of William Thomas Irving at Gooding. He was the oldest son of the late William Irving, pioneer settler of Montpelier. William Thomas Irving was born July 29, 1880 in Montpelier where he attended school and spent the early part of his life. He then engaged in farming in Bennington and Georgetown. He moved to Jerome and later to Gooding. He is survived by his wife, five sons and five daughters; also four brothers, Samuel, Washington, and Alonzo Irving of Montpelier and Leo Irving of Twin Falls and two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Bowcutt of Green River and Vivian Stephens of Montpelier. Funeral services will be held in Gooding Saturday at 2 o’clock..

Obituary (Deseret News) Funeral was held on Saturday , December 7 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Gooding, for William Thomas Irving who died at a Gooding Hospital, on December 2, of a heart attack. Mr. Irving was born July 29, 1880 in Montpelier, Idaho, the eldest son of the late William Irving, one of the first pioneer settlers of Montpelier. He married May Lindsay in 1900 in the Logan Temple. Two children were born to the couple, Mrs. Rollen Merrill of Pocatello and Ferris Irving of Avon, Idaho. After the death of his wife, Mr. Irving married Ellen Tippetts of Georgetown. To this couple nine children were born: Floyd Irving of Hood River Oregon, Mrs. LaVoi Umphanoce, Mrs. Marie Johnson and Alvin, Oral and Lora Irving of Gooding. Mrs. Vivian Walker of Weiser, James Irving of Glenn’s Ferry and a daughter, Vanetta, who died in childhood. He also is survived by four brothers, Samuel, Washington and Alonzo Irving of Montpelier and Leo of Twin Falls and two sisters Mrs. Beatrice Bowcutt of Green River, Wyoming and Mrs. Vivian Stephens of Montpelier. Mr. Irving had been a life-long member of the Church and had spent most of his time in farming in Montpelier, Bennington, Georgetown, Jerome and Gooding. He left a large number of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
