Sophia was born in Wayne Township, Washington County, Wisconsin. She married Wendel Conrad Wilhelm Petri on 26 September 1918.

Mrs. Sophie Petri, 64, (nee Amerling) of 618 Midland Ave., West Bend, died at her home Thursday following a lingering illness.
She was born on July 12, 1895, in the Town of Wayne in Washington County. She remained there until her marriage to Wendel Petri on Sept 26, 1918, at Holy Angels Church, West Bend. The couple settled in the Petri homestead in the Town of Wayne, where they remained until moving to West Bend in 1955. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1957.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, and at 9:30 at Holy Angel's Church. The Rev. Raynor Hausmann, pastor, will be the celebrant of the funeral mass, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon until time of services. A parish rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Sunday.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Ione) Honeck, of Kewaskum, and Mrs. Aaron (Doris) Kluever, of R. # West Bend; four sons, John and Earl, of Wes Bend, Myron, of Fond du Lac, and Bruce, of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold Hawig, of Town of Wayne, and Mrs. Adam Kozlowski, of Milwaukee; two brother, Edwin, of Town of Wayne, and Arnold, of Town of Kewaskum. One sister preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society of Holy Angel's Catholic Church, and of the Apostolate of Suffering.
