Speed Royalty, 49, died after a short illness at the City Hospital in Springfield, Ohio, Thursday, Feb 25, 1943, at 11:55 a.m. He was the son of John and Clara Burchell Royalty and was born and reared in Washington County, and had been an employee of the Everwear Manufacturing Company, at Springfield, Ohio, for several years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Champ, Mrs. Eva Crisp and Miss Dorothy Royalty, all of Springfield; one son, Dalton Royalty, in the U.S. Navy; two half-sisters, Mrs. J. C. Satterly, Seaville, Washington county; Mrs. Nancy Newby, Harrodsburg; six half-brothers, John and Smith Coleman, Lexington; Syd Coleman, Louisville; Richard Coleman, Burgin; W. M. Royalty, Burgin and James I. Royalty of this city. He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews in Mercer and adjoining counties. The funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 27, at Richards Funeral Home in Springfield, O. with burial in Glen Haven Cemetery in that city. The Rev. J. A. Pence, pastor of the First Christian church was in charge of the rites.
