Dan Roger Adams, 82, went to his eternal home Saturday, August 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Wed, Aug. 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Airline Baptist Church. Officiating will be Brother Chad Mills, Brother Billy Pierce, and Brother Harrell Shelton. Interment will follow at Rose Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, La. The family will receive friends at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Haughton, La on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Mr. Adams was born on June 18, 1931 in Logansport, La to Blanche and Katie Adams. He graduated Logansport High School, attended McNeese and served in the US Navy. During his high school, college, and Navy days he served on the boxing team. He settled in Shreveport, La where he worked for Bell South/AT&T, retiring after 34 years to start his own business, Delta Tel Com. He is well known in this area for his love of Jesus and his passion for leading his brothers and sisters to Christ. He devoted the past 25 years to his prison ministry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and Katie Adams, brothers, Vernon Adams and Herbert Adams, and a stepson, Mark Jones. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Pam Adams and his sons Michael Dan Adams and wife Aysegul, Russell Scott Adams and wife Beth, stepson Robbie Jones and wife Sheila, grandchildren Laura Adams Hinze and husband Levi, Leah Adams, Courtney Jones, Griffin Jones, and Emily Jones, brother Wayne Adams and wife Stella, and sister Macel Wilhite and husband J.B. Pallbearers will be Greg Whiteard, Jimmy Sneed, Robbie Jones, Jackie Adams, Murphy Perot, and Bruce Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Wilson's Sunday school class, Griffin Jones, Bob Alden, Kim Angeletti and Robert Swann. The family would like to express gratitude to Mr. Adams' loving and devoted sitters, Kim Angeletti and Robert Swann of Peggy Williams Sitting Service.
