Herbert L. Adams, 76, of Greenville cashed in his chips on July 8, 2013, with his devoted daughter, Tina Martin, and son-in-law Tim Martin by his side. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in his hometown of Logansport, La. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Hall. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Herbert was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Logansport, La., to Louis and Katy Adams. Herbert received his education through the U.S.Army school of finance and began his career in banking and finance as a teller at Northwest National Bank in Dallas, working his way to president of the Bank of Dallas at age 30. His career also included bank president at the following banks — Citizens National Bank of Greenville, Bank of Bossier, La., Colonial Bank of Greenville, and Point Bank of Texas. He worked in Guam with the FEMA disaster relief effort in financing and also worked as a car salesman for Randall Noe Ford where he achieved several top salesman awards. He is survived by his son, Herbert L. Adams Jr. and wife Jean Marie; daughters Larri Myers and husband Dee and Tina Martin and husband Tim; loving grandchildren who referred to him as "Pop Pop," Theresa, Angela, Kristina, Anthony,Adam, Brandon, Katie, Garrett and Oliver; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Wayne Adams and wife Stella and Dan Adams and wife Pam; and a sister, Macel Wilhite and husband J.B. Pallbearers will be Garrett Myers, Oliver Myers, Adam Martin, Brandon Martin, Jackie Adams and Russell Adams.
