Funeral services for O.L. Kelly, aged 36, prominent young farmer and cotton man, residing one mile west of this city, who was instantly killed shortly after 5 o'clock Friday afternoon in a collision (sic) between the car which he was driving and a westbound L. Mr. Kelly was en route to Sulphur Springs and was the only occupant of the car, which was hurled to the right of the highway a twisted mass of wreckage. His body was hurled clear of the machine by the impact of the collision. Members of the train crew picked him up lying face downward with hands outspread. His neck was broken and his skull fractured.

The steering wheel and gasoline tank of the automobile, a light model car, were carried for a distance down the track.
