Alvie Covey McMullen, 94, passed away at Manor Care Nursing Home in Webster, Texas, on August 2, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Dorman C.D. McMullen, as well as her sisters and brothers, Jean Pepper, Rebecca Bodine, Ray Covey and Tommy Covey.

Alvie was born in DeRidder, Louisiana and moved to Port Arthur, Texas, when she got married.

Together, she and her husband settled down in Groves, Texas, where they raised their three children and were faithful members of First Baptist Church of Groves.

She is survived by her three children Wayne McMullen and wife, Barbara, Pat Singleton and husband Bob Williams, and Sue Whittington; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
