Warren Cushman, a veteran of the Civil War, died this morning at 9 o’clock. at his home, 1006 Kilburn avenue. Death was due to paralysis and bean trouble, from which he had been a sufferer for a number of years. The first stroke was suffered six or seven years ago, and at that time he lost the sight of his right eye. Since the second stroke two years ago he has been totally blind.
Last Saturday he was taken down with the third stroke. Mr. Cushman was born February 1, 1831. at Tanden Canada West where he resided until 1836, when be moved to Otsego, Michigan. He was married in 1856.
In January. 1864. he enlisted as a private in Company B. 13th regiment. Michigan Volunteers, and remained in the service until the close of hostilities.
He was married for the second time Sept 27, 1874 in Hopkings, Michigan, where he lived until 1879, when he took up his residence in Petoskey, living there until his coming to Rockford in 1890. During the first fifteen years here he operated a peanut stand at the corner of Main and State streets.
Mr. Cushman leaves two daughters, Miss Chole B, Kalamazoo. Michigan and Mrs. Clara Corbett, Lansing. Michigan and four sons, Arthur A. San Francisco: William D.. Kalamazoo; Person W. Cleveland. 0hio.: and Z. C. of Rockford. He is also survived by two brothers, William, Otsego: and David of Los Angeles: and one sister. Mrs. Mary Fisher, Kalamazoo.
