Recently found obituary [by another member] says that Mr. Collins died in a scaffolding accident in Pullman Illinois on Friday afternoon /evening. It appears he was a well thought of brick/contractor in the District that actually did the brickwork at the old Senate/Executive Office Building right next to the White House. In his time it was the War & State Building [State Department & War Department office building/ Navy] He apparently had a contract in Illinois on some homes for Pullman Car Company. Says ''He was looked upon as upright and honorable with in all his dealings''
He was scheduled to be buried on Monday October 16th, and left ''a wife and several children.''
Also appears that he was enlisted in Civil War records as a private Company A 1st Battalion D.C. Infantry.
