Rosetta "Nettie" Pennell Barnes, 98, a resident of the Taylorsville House died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Brian Center East in Hickory following an extended illness.
She was born May 10, 1909 in Alexander County to the late Jefferson Pennell and Mary Jane Coffey Pennell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Taylorsville and retired from Holly Farms.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Flake Barnes; an infant daughter, Sally Barnes; two sisters, Eve Land and Maggie Jolly and six brothers, Hugh Pennell, Jay Pennell, Ray Pennell, Hall Pennell, Doll Pennell and Lee Pennell.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Leon Rowland. Burial will be in the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home.
