Neil Dean Johnson, born March 17, 1924 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Myron E. and Edith Kelly Johnson. 1942 Graduate of Grandview Heights High School. WWII combat veteran, 69th Infantry Division, US Army, awarded the Bronze Star. Former owner of Neil D. Johnson Fire Apparatus & Equipment Company. Retired in 1995 from CHAMA, Inc., where he served as Executive Director and Senior Vice President on the Board of Directors.

Family was the most important part of his life as a loving husband and Father. Preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Chard Johnson, sister JoAnn Fisher and brother Loren Gale Johnson. Survived by sister, Patricia Gatsch; children, Jerry Johnson, Lynn and JoAnna Johnson, Jill and Jay Ortlip; grandchildren, Alyssa Ortlip Sovchik, Laura Ortlip, Erin Johnson, and Kera Johnson; great-grandchildren, Chase Sovchik and Payton Sovchik.

There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family at Union Cemetery. A special thank you to Molly McGuire for her devotion and care and our sincere gratitude to the hospice staff at Kobacker House. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
