Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Carl Lloyd Crowther, 92, passed away from natural causes on July 28, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 11, 1921 in Harrisville, Utah to William and LaVerna Crowther. He married Noradean Bradshaw on June 13, 1945 in Elko, Nevada.
Carl (aka: Slick, Shiner, Vivian) graduated from Weber High in 1939. He attended Weber State College before starting his working career. He worked in a variety of jobs related to the oil refining industry including: Standard Oil, Texaco, Beeline-Frontier retiring from Husky Oil in 1983.
Early in life Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball and rock collecting. Later in life he found joy loving and supporting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carl enjoyed life's simple pleasures. A friend, a cup of coffee and a cigarette topped his list. Carl was loved by all who knew him. His gentle demeanor and twinkle in his eye will be missed.
He is survived by his sons, Carl "Jim" Crowther (Joan), West Jordan, Utah, Curt P. Crowther (Mary), SLC, Utah, daughter Karla Crowther Pardini (Victor), SLC, Utah. his treasured grandchildren, Phillip (Jaime), Derek (Heather), Erin (Tyler), Mark, Megan (Colter), Sean (Katie), Sarah (Matt), Mat (Atara), Anne; and his precious great-grandchildren, Curt Ryan, Caycee, Grayson, Abby, Lindsey, Gavin, Claire, Lily, Cohen, Bridger, Nash, Laney, Isla, Katie, Hannah, Milo, Ananda, Anuhea, and also one sister, Lois Stratford. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and a sister.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice. A special thanks to Josh Wakeland for his professional care and compassion.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 12:00 p.m. (Noon), at the Neil O'Donnell & Son's Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. In lieu of flowers, please join the family for a celebration of Carl's life after the services.
