LINN--Archie W. McHenry, 70, of Linn, Gilmer County, died Friday in Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Weston, after a long illness.
He was a former employee of the State Department of Highways and had been a coal miner and a laborer. He was a member of Ellis Grove Methodist Church.
Surviving: sons, Junior of Nitro, Eugene of Akron, Ohio, Wayne of Morgantown, Larry of Linn; daughters, Mrs. Earl Carle of Belle, Miss Marie McHenry of Linn, Mrs. Kyle Shoulder of Adrian; brothers, Buster of Linn, and Gail of Florida; sisters, Mrs. Hazel Moneypenny and Mrs. Veryl Lowther of Linn, Mrs. Fern Franshure of Alum Bridge; 20 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Spurgeon Mortuary, Glenville, with the Rev. Gene Kirby and the Rev. Kenneth Cruikshank officiating. Burial will be in Hiney Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
