Adelaida Chávez, age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, was born on June 10, 1924 and passed away on July 31, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Adelaida will be remembered as a loving, dedicated, faithful wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Adelaida was an example in all that she did and was a testimony of God's love and faithfulness.
Adelaida is survived by her five children, Carmen Riojas, Mel Chávez, Rita Chávez, Albert Chávez and Dennis Chávez, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chávez was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, José M. Chávez.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. in the Gabaldón Memorial Chapel. Final Visitation will be on Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with a Communion Service at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San José de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Chávez, Christopher Ortega, David Sax. Albert Chávez Jr., Isaac Chávez and Dennis Chávez Jr.
