ODESSA Sharp, Jesse Duane (Bussie) a retired Insurance claims specialist, passed away April 8, 2008, at Hospice of Midland, Midland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday April 12, 2008, at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home Chapel, burial following at Sunset memorial Gardens with Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating.
Jesse was born March 25, 1934, to Hiram Edward Sharp Jr. and Pauline Herron Sharp in Eldorado, Texas. Jesse was previously employed as a police officer with the Odessa Police Department eight years leaving in 1965 to finish his college education. He is a graduate of McCamey High School, Odessa Junior College and Texas Tech University. Jesse earned a BBA degree from Texas Tech in 1967, upon returning to Odessa he was employed by State Farm Insurance as a claims specialist, retiring in 1994 due to health conditions.
Jesse fought a valiant battle with heart, kidney disease and diabetes which he handled admirably to the very end. Jesse married Betty Lou Bryson from Hamilton, Texas February 22, 1958 at Chapel of Roses in Odessa, Texas. They have two sons, Paul Duane Sharp of Bedford, Texas and Jay Michael Sharp of Odessa, Texas.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Betty; and two sons, Paul Sharp and Mike Sharp; a sister, Helen Norman (Taylor) of San Angelo, Texas; and a brother, Hiram Edwin Sharp, III (Annette) of Levelland, Texas; one nephew; two nieces; five great-nephews; and one great-niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Edwin and Pauline Sharp; and his cherished Golden Retriever, Spud. Services entrusted to Hubbard Kelly funeral home. The family will receive visitors at Hubbard Kelly funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2008.
