Dr. Quentin Louis Questel, age 91, of Columbus, IN, passed away on Thursday morning, November 15, 2018 at Keepsake Village of Columbus.

Louis was born on March 17, 1927 to the late Benjamin and Edith Questel. He was a proud WWII US Army Veteran. Upon returning from war, he received his undergraduate degree from Kent State University and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University.

On August 21st, 1954, he married the love of his life, Mary Thekla Schumacher, who preceded him in death on July 5, 1998.
Shortly after becoming a veterinarian, he moved to Chicago, IL and started a small animal practice with his best friend.
While living in Chicago he became a pilot and enjoyed flying in his small aircraft. In the early 1970's, Louis moved his family to the Indianapolis area where he went to work for The United States Department of Agriculture. After many years of service, he retired and enjoyed his wood-working craft and made many pieces of furniture for family and friends. He was a member of The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, The American Legion, The Holiday Rambler Club and The First Lutheran Church of Columbus. He was an avid Ohio State Fan and love to go camping in various parks around the country. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his two children, Diane Marie Rodgers (David) of Columbus, IN and David Louis Questel of Marion, IN; three grandchildren, Derek, Danielle and Dustin Rodgers; two sisters, Catherine DeMattia (Ray) of Silver Lake, OH and Cecile Acker (the late Howard) of Sydney, OH; three sisters-in-law, Jean Questel of Hudson, OH, Annette Wonn (the late Bill) of Columbus, OH and Teresa Erickson (Bob) of Columbus, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Theodore Questel (Helen) and John Questel; a sister, Anne Sowards (Irwin); sisters-in-law, Loretta Schumacher, Martha Goodwin (Bill) and Joan Maricevich (Tony); and one nephew, Mark Maricevich.
Funeral services for Louis will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 11:00AM at 3600 E. 25th Street, Columbus, IN. The family will receive guests at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel, has been entrusted with arrangements.
