Leo N Rettler Dies

Mr Rettler was born six miles East of Sigourney, near the location of the small town of Baden in 1899. As a youth he attended St Elizabeth's Catholic school in Harper. In 1926 he was married to Helen Nicoli of Sigourney.

The couple began housekeeping on the farm of the bridegroom's father where they lived for five years. After living on rented farms for three years, Mr and Mrs Rettler moved into Sigourney, where Mr Rettler has been employed on various works project administration projects.

The couple were the parents of six children, four of whom are still living, Kathryn age 9, Jo Anne age 7, John Peter age 4, Leo Jr age 2. The two girls had been living with their father's parents and the two small boys made their home with Mr and Mrs Keifer. Besides his wife, parents and brother at Harper and sister at Talleyrand there are three sisters: Mrs Frank I Greiner and Mrs W. J. Greiner of Keota and Mrs Wendall Mallinger of Brighton.

Arrangements for the funeral service had not been made this morning.
