He was born July 31, 1933 in Clinton County to Glen & Nellie (Alexander) Lashbrook. He married Geneva Peak on November 2, 1956 in Kirklin and she survives.
Mr. Lashbrook lived in Colfax for 30 years before moving to Frankfort in 2001. He worked at General Foods Lafayette Plant and was a truck driver for Peets Feeds. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served for two years.
Richard was a member of the Colfax Wesleyan Church and attended the First Wesleyan in Frankfort. He was a Christian, worked hard for and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Lashbrook of Frankfort; three sons, Jeffrey (Becky) Lashbrook of Frankfort, Kevin (Patti) Lashbrook of Idaville, IN, Rich Lashbrook of Frankfort; three daughters, Anita (Jon) Baker of Frankfort, Kim Barker of Frankfort, Lisa Baker of Carrollton, GA; four brothers, Paul Lashbrook, Charles (Joann)Lashbrook, Harold (Marjory)Lashbrook and Raymond (Mary) Lashbrook; two sisters, Ann Trent & Wilma (Don) Hill, 21 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene, four sisters, Frances, Clorene, Irene and Maxine; and son-in-law, Brian Baker.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax, IN.
