Birth date comes from family records.

His middle name was the same as his aunt's married name (# 167102910 ).

Records differ on whether his surname was spelled McDaniel or McDaniels. It appears the family used McDaniel, but various reports do include the ending S, and so usage here reflects the usage in the particular sources.

He was married first on 26 July 1839 to Sarah Ball (1807-25 March 1841, with whom he had a daughter Lizzie (Yoast) ). He remarried on 23 Aug. 1848 to Adelaide Matilda Barr (according to some family records) but various city records cite her as having been Adelaide Barris. He had 15 children with her. Three of them (Parker F., Amanda Stewart and Ella Florence) died as toddlers.)

He was brother to three siblings who died as young children and to surviving siblings Joseph Ashton McDaniel, Elizabeth McDaniel (Calver) and Sarah Andrews McDaniel (Redifer).

His whole Odd Fellows burial group of three adults (he, his wife and adult son Robert) and seven children/grandchildren was removed to Lawnview Cemetery in Montgomery County while his adult daughter Josephine, age 30, was removed first with them but then re-removed, instead, to Hillside Cemetery, according to Lawnview records from 1951. (There are two Hillside cemeteries in Montgomery, one in Roslyn and one at Souderton. Josephine was moved to the Roslyn cite. The strikeout through the Lawnview record also obscures her surname, but another record calls her Dean.)
