Harvey L. Bowers, 50, Provo, died Tuesday at noon at the Utah Valley Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Tabiona, a son John Wesley and Hazel Wadley Bowers. He married Peggy Barney on Dec. 29, 1953, in Ely, Nev. He was a member of the LDS Church in the Orem 27th Ward. He was a graduate of Tabiona High School in 1938 and then attended a Brigham Young University. He worked for Provo City from 1960 until the time of his death. He was promoted to shop foreman in 1968 and in 1968-69 was Employee of the Year.
Survivors include his widow, Provo; four sons, Reese, Phillip, Gary, Perry Bowers all of Provo; one daughter, Jan Rodriques, California; three grandchildren; his stepfather, David A. Nye, Heber City; four brothers and three sisters, LaMonte Bowers, Leeds; La Von (Pete) Bowers, Salt Lake City; Nadine Hansen, Hawaii; LaVerna Jo Miller, Pleasant Grove; Gene Bowers, Lehi; Carl Bowers, Pleasant Grove; Nyetta Larsen, Phoenix, Ariz.; six stepbrothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Orem 27th Ward Chapel, 575 S. 4th W. Friends may call at the Sunberg- Olpin Mortuary in Orem Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the chapel Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
