My great-uncle -

Brother of Lucy West, son of Richard & Sarah Arvella (Love) West.

When I was a small child, I remember calling him Uncle Frankel. He was always a loving, kind man. He had a white poodle that he kept "prettied up" with pink bows and toe-nail polish.

Uncle Frank served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. Sadly, I wasn't as interested in history when I was younger as am I now, and I regret not asking him questions about his service.

Frank lived in Muskogee, but would drive to Briartown to draw water from the well for Lucy and mow her lawn. He always looked out for her.

In 1994, my family had a birthday party in San Antonio for Aunt Lucy and Uncle Frank to celebrate their birthdays. Frank passed away a few months later. I'll treasure those last memories of him.
