Bessie was the daughter of Dr. William Thomas Eastes and Sarah C. Zedaker. She and George Telfer Thorpe were married , July 29, 1892 in Covington, Kentucky by the Kenton County Judge. They lived in Gaston, Indiana , where their son, Byron Albion was born, June 18, 1896 . George died in 1914, and Bessie moved to Muncie , where she bought a home. Jan 25, 1919, Bessie Ann married a second time, to Oscar Emmanuel Wilbur, son of Karl Wilhelm Wilbur and Anna E Pattersen. Eventually , they moved to Detroit, Michigan where Bessie’s son and his family lived.
Bessie and Oscar separated about 1930 , and had no further contact. Bessie moved back to Muncie and divorced Oscar in 1934, never knowing that he had already died in 1933.
She earned her living as a music teacher ,a piano teacher .
