El Paso-David Leroy Sutton, 41, of 555 E. Clay Street, El Paso, formerly of Bloomington, died at 7:55 am Wednesday (September 30, 1998) of natural causes.

There will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation rites were accorded and interment will be at a later date. Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Sutton was born August 20, 1957, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, a son of Alfred M. and Geneva May Mitchell Sutton.

He is survived by his mother, Geneva Sutton Overby, Winona, Missouri; his father, who resides in Savannah, Missouri; one daughter, Tammie Ann Sutton, Bloomington; one brother, Alfred Sutton Jr. of Missouri; two sisters, Debra J. Fuller, Glasford; and Geraldine Winters, Washington; three half brothers, Henry Michael and Scott A. Overby, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Marion Sutton, Pontiac; one half sister, Heather M. Overby, Georgia; two stepsisters, Mary Louise Barcomb, Bloomington; and Sherry Blair of Massachusetts; and one step brother, Victor Barcomb, Pekin.

He is survived by one aunt, Janice Kellerhals, El Paso.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Grace Ann Sutton; and his half brother, Roger Dale Sutton.

Mr. Sutton was employed i the laundry department of the Holiday Inn, Normal.

David Leroy Sutton died at the age of 41 on September 30, 1998 in El Paso, Woodford County, Illinois due to respiratory arrest and brain tumor (which was diagnosed 21 months prior to his death). He died as an inpatient at the Heritage Manor of El Paso, Illinois. He was born on August 20, 1957 at the Missouri Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri to Alfred Marion Sutton, Sr. and Geneva May Mitchell. He had three siblings: Alfred Marion Sutton, Jr. Jeraldean Lee Sutton Winter of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Deorah Sutton Fuller of Peoria, Illinois. He also had two half brothers: Henry Michael and Scott Alan Overby.

He was divorced and had a daughter Tammie Ann Sutton. His influence and his deeds will linger as saved memories in the minds of all who knew him.

He was cremated on October 1, 1998 by the Schultz Crematory, Streator, Illinois. Funeral arrangements were made by the Froelich Memorial Home, 209 N. Grant Street, El, Paso, Illinois.

Gravesite Details

David's ashes sat on Aunt Janice's buffet in the dining room in El Paso. When she died, her ashes sat next to his until her 2nd husband Gary died 2 years ago. Just before Gary died David's ashes were given to his daughter Tammie. She still has them.
