Mrs. Mabel June Bardrick Atkins, 67, of Dawson died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born June 25, 1918, at Riverton, the daughter of Charles H. and Lorene Ratcliff Bardrick, who preceded her in death.
A lifelong resident of Dawson she married Elmer R. "Curley" Atkins in 1941, and he died in 1974. A sister, Dorothy Bardrick Stewart, also preceded her in death.
She was a 1938 graduate of the Illinois Business College.
Mrs. Atkins formerly was employed at Memorial Medical Center and retired in 1978 as postmistress at Dawson after 22 years of service. She was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church
National Association of Professional Women, Credit Grantors Club, National Association of Postmasters, League of Postmasters and Springfield Business and Professional Women's Association.
Surviving are one son, Ronald E. of Dawson; one half-brother, Charles Bardrick of Springfield; two grandchildren; and several cousins.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednes day at Fullenwider Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Richard Piscatelli officiating.
Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
