Victoria (Vickie) Allen Gunning, 90, of Oakmont Nursing Home, formerly of 222 S. Boyce St., Union, widow of Arvel (Bo) Gunning, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at 10:15 a.m. in Oakmont Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mrs. Gunning was born in Lockhart on March 20, 1913, a daughter of the late James and Beulah Grant Allen. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church and was retired from Milliken & Co., Ottaray Plant.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann G. Jones and Helen G. Allison, both of Union, a brother, Raymond Allen of Lockhart; five grandchildren, Joey Allison, Jackie Allison, Vicki Allison Gregory, Steve Beard and Kenneth Beard; nine great-grandchildren, Destiney Allison, Brandon Allison, Alyssa Allison, Tyler Allison, Hunter Allison, Brad Allison, Sharon Ann Temples, Karen Willis and Stephanie Beard; a great-great-grandson, Cody Dale Temples.

Mrs. Gunning was predeceased by a brother and seven sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Benny Green and the Rev. Jerry McGee. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday to await the hour of service.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Ann Jones, Apt. 3D, 222 S. Boyce St., Union and at the home of her grandson, Jackie Allison, 121 Pineforest Road, South Hills, Union. Memorials may be made to the Mon-Aetna Baptist Church Building Fund, 1433 Lockhart Hwy., Union, S.C. 29379. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
