He died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 1987, at Community Med-Center Hospital, Marion.
He was born, March 5, 1912, in Kentucky, to Thomas and Martha Ann, (Hamm) Cooper. On April 9, 1931, he married Lauria Ellen Johnson and she died March 15, 1976.
Survivors include two sons, Wilbert K. of Marion and Daniel W. of Marion; two daughters, Mrs. John (Vergie) Stacy of Marion and Mrs. Larry (Betty) Brannan of Columbus; four brothers, Simeon and Benjamin, both of Florida, Venton and Wilbert, both of Kentucky; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, three daughters, four brothers and two sisters.
He was a retired farmer, and an ordained minister of the Gebhardt Enterprise Baptist Church, Marion.
