Mr. Irons was born on October 22, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo., and was a lifelong area resident. He was a Baptist. He retired in 1972 after 39 years as a machinist with Meyer Optical Company. Survivors include his wife, Rosella Irons of the home; two sons, William E. Irons and Floyd L. Irons, both of Lathrop, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Pace and Corrine Taylor, both of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Milton E. Irons, Jr., of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a sister, Beatrice Jones of Cassville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren." The Kansas City Star, April 8, 1995
