Betty Virginia Wolfensberger, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born Saturday, Aug. 16, 1924, in Fiddlersburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Guy Gilbert Godlove and the late Ethel Elaine Stouffer.
She was a member of Salem Reformed Church.
She was employed by Maryland Ribbon Co., and retired in 1989. She was previously employed by Corderman's Hardware.
She is survived by
her husband of 73 years, Paul Andrew Wolfensberger;
son, James G. Wolfensberger;
sisters,
Lavina I. Bowers and
Mildred E. Hawthorne;
brother, Robert G. Godlove;
five grandchildren;
numerous great-grandchildren;
several great-great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
daughter, Paulette J. Potteroff;
son, Andrew D. Wolfensberger;
brother, James F. Godlove; and
one infant grandson.
Services will be Monday, July 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Pastor Stephen Wagoner officiating. Interment will be in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem Reformed Church, 13182 Salem Church Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
