Mrs. Joyce Petty King, age 79, of 101 Candler Drive, Buffalo, SC, widow of Charles King died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. King was born in Buffalo, SC, April 25, 1930, a daughter of the late James Petty and Lizzie Trammell Petty. She retired from Conso Products and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters: Gwen Price and husband Craig with whom she made her home, Betty Jo Osborne and husband Guy of Myrtle Beach, Linda Boulware and husband Eddie and Gail Pollander and husband Bobby all of Buffalo; eleven grandchildren: Rhonda O'Shields, Scott and Ashley Osborne, Rebecca Osborne all of Myrtle Beach, Roy Lemmons, Jr, Donna Gardin and Bryan, Renae and Gregg Medford all of Buffalo, Mandy and Chris Allen of Putman, TJ Calicutt and Crystal and Wesley Ward all of Buffalo, Chris and Brooke Boulware and Chad and Ashley Boulware; thirteen great-grandchildren: Stacy O'Shields, Justin O'Shields, Dylan Osborne, Nick Lemons, Faith Lemons, Brittany Gardin, Nathan Gardin, Kyleigh Allen , Brooklynn Postalweight, Connor Medford, Ivey Medford, Lacey Medford and Braydon and Christian Ehm; a brother: J.T. Petty; sisters-in-law: Hazel Presnell and Judy Petty. Mrs. King was predeceased by three sisters: Mildred Austin, Ruby Varner and Peggy Ray; a brother, Jackie Petty; mother and father-in-law, Candler and Daisy Mae King.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale and Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be in Putman Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Austin, Allen Petty, Tommy Petty, Henry Petty, Michael Hawkins and Jason Yarbrough. The following are asked to assemble at the church at 1:45 PM to form the honorary escort: Bob Smith, David Lee, Roy Turner, Roger Turner, Larry Burgess, Pete Brock and James Sinclair.
