Annie and Charles were married in 1842. In 1848, her husband was the first commander of Fort Kearny, located near present day Omaha, NE. Annie was the first woman to live at the post arriving with a 3yr old and an infant in arms before the post construction was completed.
She went on the live in the Oregon Territory and the New Mexican Territory before her husband was transferred to Philadelphia during the Civil War.
She was the mother of 4 children.
