Elmer was a farmer. He was the son of Daniel and Rebecca Ann Hawley Housholder. Elmer married Harriet Nits, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Nail Nits of Pennsylvania and Virginia. He died from tuberculosis of the bone at the age of 69 years 1 month and 26 days.

S. E. Householder Taken by Death

Four weeks of illness end in death of Union Hill farmer at William Sanitarium later Saturday afternoon.

S.(Seldon)Elmer Householder died at William Sanitarium Saturday after four weeks illness with Tuberculosis of the elbow. His right arm was removed just above the elbow Friday afternoon but the operation proved unsuccessful and death resulted a day later. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:o'clock at the Scotch Ridge Cemetery The funeral procession will meet at D. W. Young's undertaking rooms in this city at one o'clock previous to going to Scotch Ridge. Rev. S.M. Cook, of Mungen will officiate . S E. Householder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Householder, was born at Scotch Ridge Wood County on February 24th 1849, and departed this life April 20th 1918 at the age of 69 years, one month and 26 days. In his, early youth and in later years he continued to reside at Bowling Green. He followed the occupation of carpenter and builder until moving on a farm at Union Hill 14 years ago. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Harriet Spores 15 years ago the 26th of last November. A host of friends are left to mourn his loss. Survivors are two sons, Edward of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Delbert of Michigan; one step-son Ray Spores employed by the Atlas Motor Company at Chicago; two brothers, E. E. Householder north of Bowling Green and John A. Householder of Bowling Green, and one sister, Mrs. Isabell Hill of Long Pine, Nebraska.
