Son of W. E. and Malinda (Templeton) Simms and married Mary E. Forbes. His obituary follows:

Mr. C. T. Simms, aged 77 years, 8 months, and 23 days, died of Bright's disease at his home in Fayetteville on Friday, April 13, 1923. During the war between the states, he served in the Confederate Army and risked his life on the battlefield for the South which he loved so well. He was a member of the Methodist Church and his righteous life attested to the sincerity of his religion profession. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Miss Mary Ellen Simms, and one son, John B. Simms of Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. R. Doss and S. J. Patterson; burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Christopher was the 1st son and the 3rd child of William Edward Simms and Malinda Catherine Templin Simms and a brother to my great-grandfather, Jacob Milton Simms. He married his first wife, Susan H. Dorris Simms, on Nov 25, 1875. They had 1 son and 1 daughter. He married his second wife, Mary E. Forbes Simms, on Oct 6, 1881. I have no record of children to this 2nd marriage.
