Mrs. Sarah E. Howard, 78 years old, 1114 East St. Clair street, died Sunday morning (June 17, 1923) at her home following an illness of six weeks.

Mrs. Howard was born in Missouri and came to Indiana with her parents during childhood. The family settled in Lizton, Ind., and Mrs. Howard was married to James H. Stevens when she was 17 years old. Three children were born to them, two of whom survive. They are James W. Stevens of Portersville, Cal, and Mrs. Nettie G. Nichols of Indianapolis. Mrs. Howard was married to George R. Howard about twenty years ago, a number of years after the death of Mr. Stevens. Mr. Howard died about ten years ago.

Mrs. Howard was a member of the Women's Relief Corps and the Heath Memorial M. E. Church. Funeral services will be held this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the church. Burial will be in North Salem, Ind. Surviving, in addition to her two children, are two brothers, John H. Pritchett of Lizton and A. L. Pritchett of St. Louis, Mo., and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Davis of Santa Ana, Cal., and Mrs. Samantha Coate of Indianapolis.
