MRS. MARY DARBY FUNERAL TO BE FRIDAY AT 2:30

Arrangements were completed last evening for the funeral of Mrs. Mary E. Darby of Knights Landing, who died late yesterday afternoon at her home there, to be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence of the deceased and her estimable family

Mrs. Darby had been ill for some time and her death was not wholly unexpected. She was only 65 years of age and a native of Missouri, born in Audrain county, January 8, 1855. She was married February 28, 1873, to Marion Darby and their home has been in the vicinity of Knights Landing for fifty years.

Mrs. Darby is survived by her husband, M. Darby and seven children: Frank and Everett Darby of Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Sherman McGriff of Knights Landing, Mrs. Terry Wright of Sacramento, Mrs. Nellie Myer of Dunsmuir, Mrs. Anna Miller of Chico, and John Darby of Knights Landing. John Allen, Charles P Greening and Reuben Green of Yolo are half brothers. The half sisters are Mrs. H. Woolley of Woodland, Mrs. J. G. Blecker of Sacramento, Mrs. R.H. Bailey of Sutter county and Mrs. W. E. Gibson on Sutter county.

The entire community at Knights Landing is saddened by the death of Mrs. Darby. She had been a patient sufferer for some weeks, and the end came at last as a welcome surcease to her suffering. Conscious to the very last that her time to remain with her dear ones was slowing drawing to a close, she bade them all an affectionate farewell, and passed into the Great Beyond, leaving a family to sincerely mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother.

Mrs. Darby's life was marked by her kindness and generosity. Always responsive to her neighbors' need, she never spared herself, and a sorrowing community speaks in highest terms of her devotion to her family. The town sorrows at the passing of a woman of fine character and sincere worth.
