Thomas James Alton, was the seventh child of Daniel and
the first and only child of his second marriage to Minnie
Conquergood. After Tom's marriage to Violet Howes he
became an employee of the government doing carpenter work
Violet died when she was only 33 years of age and only
fifteen years after her marriage. Tom lived in the Banff
area but because of his work he was away from home alot.
He worked many years for the C.P.R. After retiring Tom
wrote a short book "Gems of the Rockies" of which a copy may be found in the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies,. In this book he relates many of the interesting stories and happenings in Assiniboine, Banff and Yoho National park. Tom and Violet had two girls. After Violet's death Tom married Ernestine Libioron.
